Mount Shasta, California

Mount Shasta is located at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California, and at 14,179 feet is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California......The United States Geological Survey considers Mount Shasta a dormant volcano, which will erupt again. It is impossible to pinpoint the date of next eruption, but it likely will occur within the next several hundred years.
